Toprak to join Borussia Dortmund
Ömer Toprak leaves Bayer 04 in the summer to join Bundesliga rivals Borussia Dortmund. The Turkish central defender has signed a long-term deal at BVB.
“I’ve had a lot of great experiences in my time at Leverkusen, playing for my country and being given the captain’s armband,” said Toprak. “When I join Dortmund in the summer it will be a new chapter for me. But I will always have fond memories of an exceptional time at Leverkusen.”

The second attempt was a successful one: the Werkself won 1-0 at Hamburger SV in the rearranged Bundesliga Matchday 17 encounter. Head coach Kasper Hjulmand's side dominated play from the start and eventually scored the winning goal through Christian Kofane in the 73rd minute.
