Three-match ban for Piero Hincapie

Bayer 04 defender Piero Hincapie has received a three-match ban in the Bundesliga from the sports tribunal of the German Football Association (DFB) following his red card in the game against Borussia Mönchengladbach.

The Ecuadorian was sent off by referee Daniel Siebert for a foul on Gladbach midfielder Julian Weigl in added time (90+4') in the Bundesliga match against Borussia Mönchengladbach on Sunday (2-2).

Bayer 04 have accepted the verdict and it therefore takes effect. That means Piero Hincapie will miss the next Bundesliga away game at VfL Bochum on Saturday 27 May (kick-off: 15.30 CEST) as well as the first two Bundesliga fixtures in the 2023/24 season.
