Tapsoba has not had any contact with the Bayer 04 first team squad or coaching and support staff. The coronavirus test was not conducted at the BayArena but instead at a laboratory in Leverkusen on his return to Germany. The 21-year-old was immediately asked to self-isolate at home by Bayer 04. Additional testing of Tapsoba carried out on Thursday and Friday has confirmed the diagnosis. The German Football Association (DFB) has officially recognised Bayer 04 as a women’s talent support centre. As announced by the DFB, 1 FC Köln, Union Berlin, RB Leipzig and Hamburger SV are also certified as performance or talent support centres from 1 January 2026 in addition to the Werkself.
