There have been no physical meetings for the members of staff for the past 18 months due to the coronavirus pandemic. Everybody, including the first team squad, met at the Werkself home ground on Tuesday to gear up for the 2021/22 season.
Carro and sporting managing director Rudi Völler honoured long-standing members of staff at the event including Rüdiger Vollborn and Dirk Dreher The two stalwarts have been with Bayer 04 in different positions for the past 40 years.
While Vollborn and Dreher continue to work the Werkself, there was a farewell for four members of staff with over 20 years at Bayer 04: Gretel Rohwer, Peggy Thun, Dagmar Lauterbach and Ulrike Schenkmann.
As well as previously confirmed departures, Bayer 04 Women will also say goodbye to Vanessa Haim and Shen Menglu before Sunday’s final game of the season at home to Werder Bremen as the pair leave Leverkusen upon the expiration of their contracts.

Hamburger SV already secured another season of Bundesliga football on Matchday 32. Following a brief dip in form in the spring, it means they've comfortably achieved their target for the season. Goalkeeper Anne Moll will leave Bayer 04 Leverkusen at the end of the season. The 21-year-old will join second-tier club VfL Bochum 1848 when her contract expires on 30 June.

This Sunday will see the end of a special era at Bayer 04 Women: Kristin Kögel will play for the Werkself for the last time in the final match of the season at home to SV Werder Bremen. After six years in Leverkusen, the 26-year-old midfielder will take on a new challenge abroad from the summer.
