‘Rudi recounts…’: Vollborn on Bayer 04 January highlights

Rüdiger Vollborn has been at the club for nearly 40 years, he holds the record number of Bundesliga appearances for the club (401) and is the only Bayer 04 player to have won both the UEFA Cup (1988) and the DFB Cup (1993). And the Berliner stayed with the Werkself after ending his impressive playing career as he worked as a goalkeeping coach for the following nine years. Vollborn now works under the Bayer Cross as a fan liaison officer and club archivist. From February 2021, the personalised Black and Red lexicon takes Werkself fans under the heading of 'Rudi recounts...' on a brief trip through the history of Bayer 04 every month...

Vollborn looks back at goals, matches, personalities and stories away from the pitch from the Bayer 04 club history. For the month of January, the Leverkusen legend has included a video on Stefan Beinlich, the birthday boy of the month.

New partner in Sponsors Club: pure.energy extends support for Bayer 04

Bayer 04 Leverkusen go into the 2025/26 Bundesliga season with another partner in the Sponsors Club. The previous Executive Box partner pure.energy has extended their commitment and taken the established partnership with the current German runners-up to the next highest level. As part of a VIP discussion group joining together for the launch of the DFB campaign ‘Punktespiel 2.0’, Germany international Wamser, DFB director of professional football Völler plus DFB president Bernd Neuendorf and DFB vice-president Peter Frymuth talked about the new club campaign organised by the German Football Association (DFB) at the FC Grenzwacht Hürtgen clubhouse.

DFB-Punktespiel 2.0: Wamser joins DFB grandees Völler, Neuendorf and Frymuth

Bayer 04 player Carlotta Wamser is part of a VIP group joining together for the launch of the DFB campaign Punktespiel 2.0. The Germany international, who signed for the Werkself in the summer, will be speaking tonight (Monday) alongside former Leverkusen managing director sport Rudi Völler, now the current DFB sporting director, plus DFB president Bernd Neuendorf and DFB vice-president Peter Frymuth at the FC Grenzwacht Hürtgen club house about the new clubs campaign launched by the German Football Association (DFB).

Tickets for FC St. Pauli away game

'Worked very well on all levels': Pätzold reviews Women's training camp

After seven days in Rieden, Bavaria, Bayer 04 Women returned to Leverkusen on Saturday. With a lot of intensive training sessions on the pitch and a high-quality friendly against Bundesliga runners-up VfL Wolfsburg (2-3) in their legs, the Werkself party left the Hotel Gut Matheshof with a lot of valuable insights. Head coach Roberto Pätzold discussed the key points from the training camp.
