Paulinho on course for Olympics with the Seleção
Paulinho is a step closer to taking part in the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo. The 19-year-old progressed to the finals of the Olympic qualifiers with the Brazil U23 team last night.
In the qualifying tournament for the Olympics, Paulinho clocked up the third win in three games with the Brazil U23 team. The Seleção Olimpica beat Bolivia 5-3 in the penultimate group match for the play-offs. That means the Brazil U23s are through ahead of the final group game against Paraguay on Friday 31 January. Paulinho was in the starting line-up against Bolivia and he was substituted on 76 minutes with the score at 4-2.
The South American Association CONMEBOL has two places at the Olympic Games – a total of ten countries are battling in two groups in the qualification tournament. The top two teams in group stages will play each other to determine who will qualify.

‘Real role models’ show solidarity – BioBrotbox campaign with Bayer 04
Just in time for the start of the school year, everyone was hard at work again at NaturGut Ophoven. For the 21st time, Bayer 04 have supported the annual ‘BioBrotbox’ campaign, which puts together a healthy breakfast for first-year primary school pupils in Leverkusen – and not only contributed 1,904 muesli bars but also plenty of enthusiasm too: Together with the U19 players Burak Kir and Clinton Wilson, Emily Wallrabenstein and Paulina Platner from the Women’s Bundesliga team helped with the packing. The latter was clearly delighted “that Bayer 04 are helping out with regional projects like this and showing their commitment to the local community”.
