Patrik Schick sidelined due to calf injury

Bayer 04 Leverkusen will have to manage without centre-forward Patrik Schick over the short term. The Czechia international suffered a slight muscle injury in his left calf in yesterday's final training session ahead of the DFB Pokal tie at third division SV Sandhausen. That was the result of an MRI scan following the training session in Leverkusen. Schick did not travel with the team for the second round tie in Sandhausen.

The striker is expected to be out of action for three weeks. That means the 27-year-old member of the squad of the current Bundesliga leaders could return for the away game at Werder Bremen at the end of November.
