Palacios withdraws from Argentina squad with muscular problems

Exequiel Palacios will not join up with the Argentina squad for their friendlies in the USA against El Salvador (23 March in Philadelphia) and Costa Rica (27 March in Los Angeles). The Bayer 04 midfielder has withdrawn from the national team due to muscular problems in his right thigh, following consultation with the Argentinian Football Association.

Palacios had to come off late on in the Werkself’s 3-2 win away at Freiburg in the Bundesliga on Sunday.

Marc and Sean Landwehr were narrowly defeated by the top favourites in the quarter-finals of the VBL Club Championship Final 2025/26.
