Bayer 04 winger Amine Adli has received a one-match ban after being sent off in the game against Mainz 05. The German Football Association (DFB) announced the verdict of the sports tribunal on Monday.

The Frenchman was shown the red card by referee Robert Schröder on 81 minutes in the 3-2 defeat in the Bundesliga at home to Mainz after committing a foul in his own penalty area.

Bayer 04 have accepted the verdict and it takes effect immediately. That means Amine Adli will be unavailable for the next Bundesliga game away to SC Freiburg on Sunday 26 February (kick-off: 15.30 CET).
