"He pushes himself along with the other two goalkeepers and thereby improves the quality. Nicholas forms a great team with Bernd Leno and Ramazan Özcan. We're happy we can continue to count on him."
For Lomb the contract extension at Bayer 04 represents "a show of confidence and recognition of my performances even though I haven't played a competitive game in the past year. I know there are two top international players ahead of me in Bernd Leno and Ramazan Özcan," said Lomb who spent the last two seasons on loan at third division Preußen Münster and Hallescher FC. "But it's great motivation for me to work with them in training and thereby continue my own development. It's great fun here at Leverkusen. And if I'm needed on the pitch then I will be there.”
