Niklas Lomb extends stay at Bayer 04
Bayer 04 have agreed a contract extension with goalkeeper Niklas Lomb. The 23-year-old has agreed a deal to 30 June 2020...
"Niklas has a great attitude and is full of positive energy," said general manager Jonas Boldt about the homegrown keeper Lomb. "He pushes himself along with the other two goalkeepers and thereby improves the quality. Nicholas forms a great team with Bernd Leno and Ramazan Özcan. We're happy we can continue to count on him."
For Lomb the contract extension at Bayer 04 represents "a show of confidence and recognition of my performances even though I haven't played a competitive game in the past year. I know there are two top international players ahead of me in Bernd Leno and Ramazan Özcan," said Lomb who spent the last two seasons on loan at third division Preußen Münster and Hallescher FC. "But it's great motivation for me to work with them in training and thereby continue my own development. It's great fun here at Leverkusen. And if I'm needed on the pitch then I will be there.”

On Saturday, 28 March, the lights will go out again at the BayArena from 20:30 pm to 21:30. As in previous years, Bayer 04 once again take part in the WWF Earth Hour campaign under the motto "We're switching off" as the club wants to set a collective example for more climate and environmental protection together with people, cities and companies around the world.

Return from Salzburg: Bayer 04 sign forward Kerim Alajbegovic
Bayer 04 Leverkusen are bringing back Kerim Alajbegovic, who joined Red Bull Salzburg in the summer of 2025. The Bundesliga club activated the buy-back option in the contract with the Bosnia international, who has enjoyed great success at the Austrian top-flight club since the start of the current season. Alajbegovic moved to Salzburg from the Leverkusen U19s last year. The 1.86-metre forward has signed a five-year contract at Leverkusen with a start date of 1 July 2026.

In the summer, Alajbegovic, now a Bosnia international, will return to Leverkusen - and thus not only achieve the next milestone still early in his career, but also enrich the Werkself squad with his footballing versatility and determination.
