The 'Nordkurve 12' fan group is again launching the Finally Red campaign this year for the season run-in. All Werkself fans are asked to dress completely in red for the Bundesliga home match against Eintracht Frankfurt on Monday night, 2 May (kick-off: 20.30 CEST/Stadium opens: 18.30 CEST).
Finally Red: Since the DFB Cup final in 2009, fans in the home end have often appeared in red. Whether it's a replica shirt, pullover, T-shirt, shirt or jacket – everybody should recognise immediately who they are rooting for: For Bayer 04! For the Werkself! For our SVB!

T-shirts in sizes XS to 4XL will be available to buy for the price of five euros from 18.00 CEST on Monday from the StadionEck. You can see photos of the T-shirt HERE. Werkself fans are also asked to turn up in red for the last two matches against TSG Hoffenheim (7 May) plus against SC Freiburg (14 May) to get behind their team in the race for Champions League qualification.
During media interviews in the middle of the week, Bayer 04 head coach Gerardo Seoane talked about Piero Hincapie. The 20-year-old defender from Ecuador only joined Leverkusen from Argentina last summer but he has already made 30 appearances under the Swiss boss. The 43-year-old coach: "We knew Piero has the potential for the Bundesliga and he will also perform well in this league. It's impressive the way he already stands up to the pressure and intensity at such a young age. He tackles every hurdle. And improves from hurdle to hurdle. We've been positively surprised by what he's done in the league and beyond."
Two things were decided on the Bundesliga matchday 31: Bayern Munich are again champions of Germany, SpVgg Greuther Fürth have been relegated to the second division. But many important questions remain unanswered with three games to play. The data service provider Opta has produced a prediction model with the help of artificial intelligence. This is calculated by current form as well as earlier results for the teams over the rest of the season – with positive prospects for the Black and Reds.
According to the computer models, there are two top contenders for the Champions League positions in addition to Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund: RB Leipzig and the Werkself. Bayer 04 and the Red Bulls from Saxony have a 90% chance of making it to Europe's premier club competition with the pursuers from Freiburg on 15%.
The City of Leverkusen and Bayer 04 join together to say: Thank you. The City and the Werkself this week invited 135 volunteers to the Barmenia Lounge at the BayArena and five of them were honoured for their voluntary work over a period of more than 25 years.

The mayor of Leverkusen Uwe Richrath praised the volunteers at the event: "They are all supportive of me in my office as I can always rely on them." Meinolf Sprink, Fans/Community director at the Werkself, added: "Bayer 04 sees itself as an integral part of the city of Leverkusen."

Sandwiched between their UEFA Champions League knockout play-off tie against Olympiacos, Bayer 04 return to Bundesliga action on Saturday with a trip to Union Berlin (kick-off: 15:30 CET). It’s a fixture of contrasting styles, with Leverkusen preferring to control the play while Union look to remain compact and counter. The Berliners are therefore suited to facing top teams, but they have only ever managed to win one of 16 meetings with the Werkself, who are looking for a fifth clean sheet of 2026 but will need to beware the home side’s threat from set pieces. Here’s all you need to know ahead of the game in our matchday news.

It took exactly 60 minutes for the Werkself to take the lead through a perfectly finished counter-attack by Patrik Schick in the first leg of the 2025/26 UEFA Champions League play-off at Olympiacos. Referring to the meeting in the league phase and the initially squandered opportunities, coach Kasper Hjulmand said afterwards: "I thought: 'Oh no, déjà-vu.'" But after the opening goal, it took just 144 seconds for the Czech to spark more wild celebrations among those in black and red in the Greek cauldron, when Schick nodded in Alejandro Grimaldo's corner. Much to the delight of the Bayer 04 fans, his teammates and his coach, who had warm words for the striker in the aftermath. The Werkself Review.
