New seating at the BayArena amidst refurbishments

Renovation work has been underway at the BayArena for several weeks now as part of the stadium’s routine refurbishment after 17 years. More and more of the new folding seats – which, from next season, will provide significantly greater comfort and make it easier to move between rows – have now been installed. The new high-quality seats have now been fitted throughout the entire east stand, giving the BayArena a new lease of life.

Work on modernising the BayArena is progressing well. The fresh red not only gives the stadium a new look; you can already imagine how the BayArena will look in all its glory just in time for the start of the season in August.

Greater comfort, easier movement

Modern folding seats are currently being installed in the general seating area. With a step depth of 80 centimetres, they provide significantly more freedom of movement between the rows. This means that getting to your seat will be quicker and more comfortable in future, as will walking to the food and drink stalls or to the toilets at half-time. Ergonomically designed backrests also ensure noticeably greater seating comfort.

Refurbishment work is also progressing in the hospitality section. The new seats there – featuring higher backrests, improved upholstery and double armrests – offer additional comfort, thereby providing a seating experience that ranks among the very best in Europe. Visually, the black seats with the red Bayer 04 logo and the red seats with the black logo add subtle accents to the area and meet the highest quality standards.

First taste in season opener

Work will continue apace at the BayArena over the coming weeks. The aim is to complete work throughout the stadium in time for the season opener on Saturday, 8 August, provided the schedule can be adhered to. Fans can then look forward not only to the Werkself’s first home match, but also to a BayArena that has become even more modern.
