
Looking at the previous friendly results show it has been a positive preseason for Pisa FC so far. The team from Tuscany, newly promoted to Serie A, have played three friendlies against other Italian clubs: There were wins against the third tier clubs AC Bra (5-0) and FC Pro Vercelli (1-0) for the team from the city world famous for to its leaning tower as well as a victory against FC Empoli (3-2) just relegated to the second division. The match against the Werkself is followed three days later by game against FC Augsburg.
The former Italy international Alberto Gilardino took over as coach at Pisa SC at the start of the season and with the experience of over 500 Serie A matches he is charged with keeping Pisa up this term. There is a German player in the squad in Idrissa Touré and the big transfer of the summer is the Switzerland international Michel Aebischer.
Bayer 04 fans can look forward to an action-packed programme and exciting events around the game. The concourse at the BayArena is open to fans three hours before kick-off at 15:00 CEST. The stands will open from 16:30 CEST. There are child friendly activities, creative hands-on stalls and a range of games. Over 21,500 tickets have been sold so far. Tickets are available up to kick-off from the Bayer 04 online shop. Bayer 04 Club members receive a ticket discount of €5 and therefore only have to pay €10 per ticket. Tickets are exclusively available on the Bayer 04 app and can only be displayed there.
Bayer 04 are showing the match live and free on Werkself TV. The broadcast on the club channel starts 20 minutes before kick-off at 17:40 due to the team presentations and other points of the programme. Commentary is provided by Niko Hartmann of Werkself Radio. Sky are also broadcasting the match live.

The jerseys worn by the Werkself will be auctioned for a good cause after the game. Funds raised will go to the recycling project that Bayer 04 and the green tech company Plastiks have worked on together since November of last year. The sustainable organisation from Spain is committed worldwide to the reuse of waste and is against waste pollution.

After eight years in the youth set-up at Bayer 04 Leverkusen, Benjamin Adam is leaving the club. The 35-year-old, who most recently coached the Leverkusen U17s, will take charge of the Hansa Rostock U19 team next season.

Bayer 04 have signed 16-year-old defensive midfielder Kennet Eichhorn from Hertha Berlin. The Germany U17 international is joining the Werkself from the Berlin Bundesliga 2 club on a long-term contract. Eichhorn made 19 appearances for the Hertha Berlin first team last season, scoring two goals.
