The second half begins at a high tempo - both teams look to get forward early on. However, AS Roma took control as the game progressed. A beautifully taken free-kick gave the Italians a 3-2 lead, and when the score was 4-2 on 76 minutes, the outcome looked to be sealed. The visitors dropped back, managed their lead and looked out for counter-attacking opportunities. The game drifted along - until the 84th minute.
Kevin Kampl then takes his chance and scores with a magnificent long-range shot to make it 4-3 and the BayArena is suddenly rocking again. Just two minutes later, Kampl set up the equaliser: He picked out left-back Wendell, who moved into the penalty area and crossed perfectly for Admir Mehmedi - 4-4! Nothing else happened in the final minutes, but after this dramatic game, fans and players were left gathering their thoughts.
The next cracker follows just four days later: Bayer 04 host fifteenth-placed VfB Stuttgart in the Bundesliga. The first half is goalless, but by no means boring. After the break, things went from strength to strength: Stuttgart scored in the 50th and 54th minutes and suddenly led 2-0. Karim Bellarabi, who had just come on as a substitute, reduced the deficit on 57 minutes, but the Swabians immediately restored the two-goal on the hour mark at 3-1. Stuttgart then missed several chances to go ahead - and Bayer 04 sensed their chance.

All-out attacks followed: Sebastian Boenisch and Chicharito scored again on 70 and 71 minutes to make it 3-3. The BayArena went wild and Bayer 04 did not let up. Attack after attack rolled towards the visitors' goal. The final goal came in the 89th minute: Just like four days earlier, it was Admir Mehmedi who scored the fourth goal for the Werkself - this time it was the winner.
15 goals in two home games - Bayer 04 fans experience two games within a few days that are still remembered today.

Christoph Daum was born on 24 October 1953 in Zwickau. As a child, he moved to West Germany with his mother and grew up in Duisburg. He developed a great enthusiasm for football at an early age, even though it soon became clear that his future lay less on the pitch than on the sidelines. Even at a young age, his passion for analysing, explaining and improving things became apparent.

When the Bayer 04 players celebrated Christmas in 1960, they spent the winter in second place in the Oberliga West 2 on 20 points - but already five points behind leaders Schwarz-Weiß Essen. However, coach Erich Garske's team are struggling to get back on track in the new year. A goalless draw against Bonner FV at home at the Ulrich Haberland Stadium was followed by a 2-1 away defeat in Erkenschwick. The following home game also yielded just one point. As a result, the team's promotion ambitions dwindled to a minimum, as the gap to the coveted spot has now grown to a challenging ten points.

As league leaders, the Werkself welcomed the relegation-threatened team from Rhenania Würselen. On 4 February 1951, 5,000 spectators line the touchlines despite the Sunday carnival parades. And they see a home team that is superior on the pitch. Without Theo Kirchberg, who was ill, and Emil Becks, who was suspended, the hosts attacked the opposing goal from the start. Battling against a strong wind in the first half, Bayer 04 created chance after chance, but were repeatedly thwarted by the Würselen goalkeeper. With the score at 0-0 at half-time, Karl Heinz Spikofski tried his luck on 55 minutes and hammered the ball into the opposition net from 20 metres out. Rhenania can no longer counterattack. The siege of the Würselen penalty area continued right to the end, but the game ended in a narrow 1-0 win.
