Löw calls up Brandt, Havertz and Tah

Julian Brandt, Kai Havertz and Jonathan Tah are set to play for Germany in the forthcoming friendly again Serbia (20 March, 20.45 CET) and the Euro qualifier against Holland (24 March, 20.45 CET). National coach Joachim Löw made the announcement at a Germany press conference on Friday afternoon. "We're very happy that three of our players are in the squad. I think they've deserved to be called up," said Bayer 04 head coach Peter Bosz.

Lukas Hradecky (Finland), Julian Baumgartlinger, Aleksandar Dragovic (Austria), Charles Aránguiz (Chile) and Tin Jedvaj (Croatia) have been called up to their national teams over the past few days.

Bayer 04 were on the brink of victory against Arsenal in the first leg of the Round of 16 tie in the 2025/26 UEFA Champions League, but conceded a late goal to make the final score 1-1. After an even first half, Robert Andrich gave Leverkusen the lead with a header on 46 minutes. The Werkself then defended with discipline and gave little away until just before the end when the Gunners equalised with Kai Havertz converting a penalty (89').
