Loan with option to buy: Kossounou joins Atalanta

Bayer 04 Leverkusen have transferred Odilon Kossounou to top-flight Italian club Atalanta. The 1.91 metre tall Ivory Coast international joins the Europa League winners on loan in Serie A before the end of his contract due to run to 30 June 2026. Atalanta also have an option to buy. Kossounou won the Africa Cup of Nations with the Ivory Coast at the start of 2024. The central defender went on to win the Bundesliga title, the DFB Pokal and the Supercup with Bayer 04

"Odilon's move is a good solution for everybody involved," said Bayer 04 sporting managing director Simon Rolfes. "We wish him a successful season at Atalanta."

Bayer 04 sign striker Aleksa Damjanovic from Red Star Belgrade

Bayer 04 Leverkusen are strengthening the squad for next season with the addition of Serbia U19 international Aleksa Damjanovic. The 17-year-old centre-forward is set to join the Bundesliga club in the summer from Serbian champions Red Star Belgrade. Damjanovic, who also has Austrian citizenship, has signed a long-term contract.
