Kicker rankings: Kampl in second spot

Kevin Kampl is one of only two Bundesliga pros rated in the 'International class' of the Kicker rankings of defensive midfielders.

In addition to Bayer 04's Slovenia international the other player in this category is RB Leipzig midfielder Naby Keita. After an injury hit first half of the season Lars Bender is rated in the prospects section. The attacking midfielder category includes Hakan Calhanoglu as up-and-coming.
The Kicker assessment of Kampl as the second best pro in his position is: "When Kevin Kampl scored the opener for Bayer Leverkusen at Tottenham Hotspur on 65 minutes, which played a significant part in the Werkself reaching the knockout stage of the Champions League, the Slovenian produced a personal key performance out of a good match. The 26-year-old has shot up from the 'Up-and-coming' category to the 'International class'.

Donation of cash and food: U19s support Leverkusen food bank

€1,000 and food for a good cause: In keeping with the long-standing cooperation between Bayer 04 and the Tafel Leverkusen e.V. food bank, the U19s are also supporting the charitable organisation in the region. In addition to the generous cheque the team were able to donate to an organisation of their choice as a result of their participation in the UEFA Youth League, coach Kevin Brok's lads donated €500 worth of food - financed by their own team kitty. Ferdinand Pohl, Jesper Schlich and Co. also actively helped to stow the food in the Tafel's premises.
