Karim Bellarabi faces long layoff
Bayer 04 forward Karim Bellarabi faces a long spell on the sidelines.
The Germany international suffered a torn groin muscle in the first Bundesliga home game for the Werkself against Hamburg SV. That was the diagnosis from an MRI scan on Saturday night at the Cologne Media Park Clinic carried out by Bayer 04 club doctor Dr Burak Yildirim. Head coach Roger Schmidt will be without the services of Bellarabi for the next few weeks.

Bayer 04 have signed defender Tim Oermann. The central defender, who can also play at right-back, joins the Werkself from VfL Bochum following their relegation from the Bundesliga. The 21-year-old has a contract to 30 June 2029. Bayer 04 will loan out the Germany U21 international to the champions of Austria SK Sturm Graz for the 2025/26 campaign.
