Illness rules out Julian Brandt
Bad Luck for Julian Brandt: The Werkself striker has not travelled with the Germany squad to Rimini for Friday’s World Cup qualifier against San Marino.
The 20-year-old is suffering from gastroenteritis. "Obviously, it's a great pity for Julian," said Bayer 04 head coach Roger Schmidt on Wednesday. "He's recovering from the infection at home with his parents. That's the best place for the young lad to be."

Imping is Bayer 04’s new coffee partner
Bayer 04 Leverkusen has a new coffee partner. The club has agreed a long-term partnership with the Bocholt-based roastery Imping, running to 30 June 2031. The exclusive partnership with the family-run business includes the installation of fully automatic coffee machines at the BayArena, as well as the right to supply and serve coffee products in the business areas during Werkself home games.
