Hradecky misses first training session of the week

Disappointment was still evident in Leverkusen two days after the unlucky defeat against Borussia Mönchengladbach in the opening fixture of the second half of the season. The pros entered the training ground in several groups engrossed in discussion on Monday afternoon. The 1-0 loss to the neighbours was reviewed in detail in the dressing room beforehand.

Karim Bellarabi and Co. emerged from the changing rooms with a 30-minute delay. With temperatures around freezing point and in sunshine, Peter Bosz and his coaching staff led a 45-minute recovery session with a  course involving many technical elements and ending with shots on goal.

In addition to the two players in rehab, Joel Pohjanpalo and Panagiotis Retsos, Lukas Hradecky was also missing on Monday. The Werkself number one was given time off at the start of the week after he received an invitation from his former club Eintracht Frankfurt to attend the film premiere of the 'DFB Cup Winners 2018' film in Frankfurt. He was accompanied by head analyst Marcel Daum who also made the move from Frankfurt to Leverkusen in the summer.

Tuesday (10.30 CET) sees preparations continue for the next Bundesliga match at VfL Wolfsburg on Saturday (26 January, 15.30 CET) – it is also the last open training session ahead of the away game against the team lying sixth in the table.
