
The 18-year-old has regularly trained with the first team this season and has been in the Werkself senior squad eight times. The striker has made appearances for the U19s scoring 13 times in eight matches in the first half of the season. "Emrehan is a penalty box player good at finishing who has had to overcome a few slight injuries in the first of the season. But his development is very promising," said sporting director Simon Rolfes. "Now it's important for him to get match practice at the highest possible level."
Gedikli made his senior debut for Bayer 04 in the Europa League in 2020/21 with three appearances in the group stage and he also made his first outing in the Bundesliga in the last game of the season at Dortmund. He won his first cap with the Germany U19s four months later and he has played four games and scored one goal for the national team so far.

The Bayer 04 Women have kept their chance of qualifying for the Champions League alive in the Bundesliga run-in. Coach Roberto Pätzold's team won 4-0 at SGS Essen on Sunday afternoon, improving their record from last season to 14 wins this term. With 43 points, the Werkself equalled another record from the 2024/25 season and at the same time reduced the gap to third-placed Eintracht Frankfurt to two points, at least for tonight. Loreen Bender (4’), Kristin Kögel (41’, 68’) and Cornelia Kramer (89’) scored for the Black and Reds, who dominated the game to record their fourth win on the bounce.
