Friendly against Al-Wahda Mecca ends training camp

During the training camp in Salzburger Land in Zell am See-Kaprun (29 July to 5 August), Heiko Herrlich's team have two international friendlies. A second opponent has been confirmed in addition to the previously announced match against the Turkish top-flight club Istanbul Basaksehir FK (2 August): On the final day (5 August, 15.30 CET), the Werkself will play the Saudi Arabian club Al-Wahda Mecca at the Goldberg Stadium in Grödig in Austria.

Al-Wahda was founded in 1945 in Mecca and is one of the oldest clubs in Saudi Arabia. The team is coached by the Brazilian Fábio Carille and his squad includes fellow countrymen in midfielders Anselmo and Marcos Guilherme and central striker Fernandao. Other well-known players are the Venezuelan Rómulo Otero (26 internationals) and Emre Colak (four internationals for Turkey).

Apart from the friendly against Istanbul Basaksehir FK (2 August), the Herrlich team are away to Dutch first division club Fortuna Sittard on Saturday 28 July – the day before setting off for the training camp. After the days in Austria, there is another friendly away to Valencia on 11 August.
