The German Football League (DFL) has presented a trophy to the winners of the annual Supercup since the competition was relaunched in 2010. The trophy shows arms holding a chrome ball with a diameter of 19 centimetres. The sterling silver finish symbolises competition for the Bundesliga title and the fine gold finish for the DFB Pokal.

The Supercup has been won 15 times by the champions of Germany and nine times by the Pokal winners. If the Werkself win the match then Bayer 04 will be the ninth club to win the Supercup.
