Due to Russia's war of aggression, Ukraine is dependent on alternative venues when it comes to hosting home international matches. Ukraine is currently in third place in European Championship Qualifying Group C, tied on points behind the second-placed Italians, who have played one game less.
Fernando Carro, CEO at Bayer 04 said: “We are pleased to be able to send a message, however small, of solidarity with our support. For many Ukrainians who have currently found their second home in the Rhineland, this game in the BayArena is a great opportunity to cheer on their home team up close - as well as for the numerous Italian citizens who live in our region. We hope for a peaceful and of course exciting celebration of football.”
Ticket sales are expected to start October 25 online via www.bayer04.de/en-us. More details will be released in time on respective Bayer 04 channels.
