Based on official match data from the Bundesliga, a total of 40 players were selected who have particularly stood out in the current campaign.
In Moussa Diaby (9 goals, 8 assists) and Jeremie Frimpong (8 goals, 6 assists) the nominees include the two most prolific goalscorers for the Werkself in the current Bundesliga season. Playmaker Florian Wirtz, who celebrated his comeback to league action at the end of January after recovering from a cruciate injury, has been involved in seven goals in his twelve Bundesliga appearances this term.
A panel will decide which Bundesliga players actually end up in the Team of the Season. This is made up – as with the monthly votes for Player of the Month and Rookie of the Month – from pundits (weighting: 30%) consisting of Bundesliga legends and selected media partners.
