Wins for Chicharito, Mehmedi and Aránguiz

After Chicharito provided the first highlight with his record goal for Mexico – with 47 to his credit he has overtaken Jared Borgetti – it was the turn of Admir Mehmedi with Switzerland and Charles Aránguiz to be on the winning side. Mehmedi played the full 90 minutes in the 1-0 victory against Belarus. Xherdan Shaqiri scored the goal for Switzerland. Charles Aránguiz, playing for 'La Roja', featured in the convincing 3-0 win against Burkina Faso in a friendly. Aránguiz played for 45 minutes, the former Leverkusen midfielder Arturo Vidal netted twice with the third goal scored by Angelo Sagal.

Chicharito, who was rested for Mexico's 3-1 win against Ireland last Friday, can increase his tally of goals in the forthcoming World Cup qualifiers against Honduras (9 June) and the USA (12 June). After that, Mexico and Chicha face Portugal (18 June), New Zealand (21 June) and hosts Russia (24 June) in the Confed Cup.

Baumgartlinger and Dragovic with Austria

Julian Baumgartlinger and Aleksandar Dragovic are in the Austria squad for the World Cup qualifier on 11 June away to Ireland. Admir Mehmedi and Switzerland are also in World Cup qualification action against the Faroe Isles (9 June).
