All the winners of votes for Rookie of the Month were nominated for the Rookie of the Season award this time round. Boniface, signed from Belgian club Union Saint-Gilloise in the summer, won the award in the months from August to November. The Nigeria international is the first player to win this award four times.
In the vote for Rookie of the Season organised by the German Football League (DFL) in cooperation with Bundesliga partner Sorare, Boniface came out top ahead of Xavi (RB Leipzig/December and April), Ian Maatsen (Borussia Dortmund/January) and Maximilian Beier (TSG Hoffenheim/February and March).
This award has been presented since the 2016/17 season. The trophy for Boniface is the first to come to Leverkusen.
The Bayer 04 Women's team coaches remain in place: The Werkself have extended the contract with assistant coach Remzi Kahraman by two years to 2027. The 30-year-old will continue to assist head coach Roberto Pätzold along with fellow assistant coach Friederike Mehring.

Germany international Florian Wirtz is leaving Bayer 04 Leverkusen after five and a half years to play for Liverpool. Wirtz, at the Werkself since January 2020 and a champion of Germany, DFB Pokal winner and Supercup winner in 2024, has signed a long-term contract with Liverpool.
