“Eliesse is a first-class technician, full of ideas and clever in his dribbling, as well as having a precise passing game that can open things up. He’ll give our attack an extra boost,” said Simon Rolfes. “Eliesse can play wide in attack and also in central areas. He’s tough to predict and a top addition for our squad. We can look forward to his displays for Bayer 04,” added the managing director sport.
The 1.78-metre-tall attacker described the move to Leverkusen as a “step into a new football culture. The Bundesliga is very different from Ligue 1. That’s especially exciting and I’m looking forward to getting to know it”.
Ben Seghir has 11 caps for Morocco, scoring three goals. “I’ve followed Bayer 04’s impressive path in recent years. This club always plays in Europe and won the league and cup last year. The club is seen as a poster child of German football in France and also Morocco. It’s great to be part of that now,” he added.
The date for the Bayer 04 Women's DFB Pokal Round of 16 tie has been set. As announced by the German Football Association (DFB) on Wednesday, the Leverkusen Women will play league rivals Hamburger SV on Sunday, 16 November at 15:00 CET.
