Mukiele joined last summer from Paris Saint-Germain and has made 24 competitive appearances for the Werkself (two goals, one assist). The 27-year-old defender netted the decisive late goal in the 1-0 win over Inter Milan in the Champions League’s league phase.
Hermoso, who wasn’t present on Sunday due to personal reasons, arrived in Leverkusen from Roma in January. The Spanish defender has played seven times for the Werkself but saw his season ended in March with a shoulder injury.
Buendia also joined in the winter window from Aston Villa. The versatile attacker has played 17 games for the Werkself, with one of his two goals earning a last-minute win at Heidenheim.
New season, new partnership: TKD is a partner in the Bayer 04 Business Club. The contract between the Bundesliga club and the company based in neighbouring Langenfeld, who specialise in mobile working for companies, runs to 30 June 2026.
