Born in Hamburg and of Ghanaian descent, he moved from the HSV academy to Manchester City three years ago. His preferred position is on the right wing but he can also operate on the left flank, where his strong right foot can provide a goal threat. "Leverkusen are a top club with great appeal," said the 1.81-metre-tall Alfa-Ruprecht. "I will repay the faith shown in me and do everything for the chance to wear the Bayer shirt."
Bayer 04 Leverkusen have secured the services of another gifted youngster: 17-year-old forward Ndjicoura Bomba will move to Leverkusen from CS Bamako in his native Mali in March, once he reaches legal age.

The opponents, venue and kick-off time for Bayer 04 Women's opening match in the Google Pixel Women's Bundesliga have already been known for some weeks. On Thursday morning, the Werkself also discovered when exactly they'll be playing on Matchdays 2 to 4 as the German Football Association (DFB) made its first scheduling announcement of the new 2025/26 season - the first in which 14 teams, not 12, will compete in the top flight.

The German national team, featuring Werkself player Carlotta Wamser, agonisingly missed out on a place in the Women's EURO final. In a tense and dramatic semi-final, the DFB Team lost 1-0 after extra time against world champions Spain. The 21-year-old summer signing from Eintracht Frankfurt played the full 120 minutes, continuing her strong form at the tournament.
