Bayer 04 extend contract with Lomb

Bayer 04 have extended the current contract with Niklas Lomb by two years. The 26-year-old joined the Werkself in 2008. Lomb came through the ranks as a keeper at the Kurtekotten Academy and then went out on loan to third division Preußen Münster and Hallescher FC plus second division SV Sandhausen. His new contract runs to 30 June 2022.

“Niklas has proved to be a key member of the goalkeeping set-up under the Bayer Cross for many years,” said sporting director Simon Rolfes. “His attitude at every training session and his great commitment to Bayer 04 are impressive. We are happy to be able to continue to rely on him.”

For Lomb, the contract extension is “proof the club values and trusts me. I know my role very well and do it with loads of passion and motivation. I will continue to justify the confidence shown in me,” declared Lomb. “I know how important it is for a professional team to have a high level of quality in all positions in training. I will play my part in that as I’ve always done.”
