Bayer 04 award Jonah Berghoff professional contract
Bayer 04 Leverkusen have extended the contract with U19 midfielder Jonah Berghoff ahead of schedule. The Germany U18 international has signed professional terms with the club to 30 June 2030.
"Jonah Berghoff has already been playing for Bayer 04 for ten years and is therefore a real home-grown talent. He has worked hard for and earned his professional contract thanks to his outstanding development and impressive performances, especially in the recently finished season," said Leverkusen Director of Football Kim Falkenberg about the 18-year-old.
Berghoff has been playing for Bayer 04 since he was eight years old. Last season, he scored eleven goals (one assist) in 21 league games. A few days ago, the flexible Leverkusen player won the FVM Association Cup for Under 19s with the Bayer 04 U19s.

Bayer 04 Leverkusen have signed France U17 international Kenan Doganay. The 1.90-metre-tall defensive midfielder, who has Turkish roots, joins Leverkusen from the U19s at French top-flight club Olympique Lyon. He will initially train with and play for the U19 team.

DFB Sports Tribunal imposes fine on Bayer 04
The Sports Tribunal of the German Football Association (DFB) has fined Bayer 04 Leverkusen €185,000 for spectators setting off pyrotechnic devices during a total of five competitive matches. This relates to four Bundesliga matches and the DFB Pokal semi-final against Bayern Munich. The highest individual fine relates to the away match at FC Köln at the end of April.
