Bayer 04 agree new deal with goalkeeping coach David Thiel
Bayer 04 Leverkusen have extended the contract with goalkeeping coach David Thiel by two years. The 35-year-old has signed a contract extension to 30 June 2022.
"We are very happy with David's work. He is an important part of our coaching staff and he's been with the first team squad for nearly ten years," said Bayer 04 sporting director Simon Rolfes.
David Thiel, at the club since 1994: "I'm very happy I can continue to provide my skills for the Werkself and I will do everything possible for us to achieve our ambitious targets with Bayer 04."

The #B04 eSports team made a successful start to the 2025/26 VBL Club Championship finals. Marc and Sean Landwehr defeated the hosts of the event, Hamburger SV, in the Round of 16.
