Baumgartlinger cruciate operation successful
Julian Baumgartlinger underwent a successful operation on his left knee on Monday.
The Bayer 04 Leverkusen midfielder injured his cruciate last Saturday during the Bundesliga match against VfL Wolfsburg (0-1). During the operation led by the Munich knee specialist Professor Stefan Hinterwimmer, the captain of the Austria national side had the affected ligament strengthened with the application of FiberTape.
Baumgartlinger will return to Leverkusen on Wednesday to start his rehab at the club. The return of the Salzburger will depend on the course of his treatment – as it stands, his comeback is not expected before May.
