33,000 euro fine for Bayer 04

The sports tribunal of the German Football Association (DFB) has fined Bayer 04 33,000 euros for two cases of unsporting conduct by fans. The case was heard by a single judge following a charge from the DFB Control Committee.

The club is entitled to use up to 11,000 euros for safety, infrastructure and anti-violence measures, which would have to be demonstrated to the DFB by 31 December 2018. During the Bundesliga match at FC Köln on 18 March, away fans set off pyrotechnics in their section of the ground. Leverkusen spectators also threw empty beer beakers in the direction of the pitch in the first half of the Bundesliga home game against Bayern Munich on 17 April 2018 when the visitors were taking corners.

Bayer 04 have accepted the decision and it therefore takes immediate effect.
