Deep dismay and disappointment for Bayer 04: After the defeat against Mönchengladbach in the opening match of the season, the Werkself lost their first home game 3-1 against VfL Wolfsburg. Leon Bailey put Leverkusen in front (24’) before the in-form visitors levelled with Yannick Gerhardt finding the back of the net (36’). Wolfsburg pulled clear after half-time, with Wout Weghorst (55’) and Renato Steffen (60’) on target.
