The squad for next season is continuing to take shape. After Dóra Zeller, Anna Klink and Isabell Kerschowski agreed extensions to their contracts with the Werkself Women, Wich has now followed suit: “I’m looking forward to the seventh season with the Werkself Women. It just feels good to finally get back on the pitch with the team and I’d like to use my experience to help us have a successful campaign in the Bundesliga in the coming season.”
Born in Kronach in Bavaria, Wich joined Bayer 04 from FFC Frankfurt in the summer of 2007. The 29-year-old can look back at 167 appearances in the FLYERALARM Women’s Bundesliga – including 60 in a Bayer 04 shirt. The last 18 months were overshadowed by a torn cruciate but she is now fully recovered.
“Jessica showed a lot of discipline in battling back from her serious injury and you can feel she’s regained the desire to play football. Her wealth of experience will help the development our young team and we’re very happy she’s staying with the team and Bayer 04,” said head coach Achim Feifel.
