Women’s Bundesliga starts on 4 September


The last matchday in the FLYERALARM Women’s Bundesliga before the end of the year is set for 20 December. The first matchday in the Women’s top flight after the winter break will be on 14 February 2021. The last matchday in the first division is on 13 June 2021.

“All considerations for the start of the 2020/2021 season are subject to the official approval of matches being played in the various localities,” was announced by the DFB. 

First round of the cup on 26/27 September

Three weeks after the start of the league fixtures, the first round of the Women’s DFB Cup will be played on 26 and 27 September. A month later, on 31 October and 1 November, the teams will compete in the second round for a place in the Round of 16 on 5 and 6 December. The quarter-finals will be played on 20 and 21 March 2021 with the two semi-finals following on Easter Sunday, 4 April 2021. The Women’s DFB Cup final is in Cologne on 29 May 2021. The kick-off time for the final is still under discussion and will be announced at a later date.

The contract runs until 30 June 2027, and the logo of the Niedax Group will be prominently displayed during Bundesliga matches and in any international competitions in which Bayer 04 take part over the next three years.

Bayer 04 transfer goalkeeper Pentz to Brondby IF

Bayer 04 Leverkusen have agreed to the transfer of goalkeeper Patrick Pentz to the top Danish club Brondby IF. The Austria international Pentz was on loan from Bayer 04 in Denmark last season. The double winners from Leverkusen and the big club from Copenhagen have agreed a permanent transfer deal for the 27-year-old who is now the number one at Brondby.
