Performance diagnostics are on the agenda this week. A majority of the Werkself – the international players will join in later on – plus one or two youth players will be put through their paces at the BayArena on Saturday and Sunday. The first session on the training ground will be on Monday 27 June.
The Werkself training sessions on pitches one and two at the BayArena are open and there will training every day in the first week up to and including Saturday (2 July) at 10.30 CEST. Additional sessions at 15.00 CEST are planned for Tuesday 28 June and Thursday 30 June.
Due to a customer event in and around the BayArena, car park P3 between the stadium and the training pitches is inaccessible up to the end of June.
One day after the successful DFB Pokal first round tie at SV Wehen Wiesbaden (4–0), the mood was understandably really good: Over 400 Bayer 04 supporters gathered on Sunday, 23 August, for the annual fan club meet-up at the BayArena and got in the mood for the new season through direct and informal discussions with Bayer 04 management, head coach Carles Martínez and Werkself players.

Thanks to an efficient second half, Bayer 04 Women kicked off the new Bundesliga season with a hard-earned 2-0 win at RB Leipzig on Sunday afternoon. It was a perfect start for Bayer 04: in Carles Martínez's first competitive match as Leverkusen head coach, Patrik Schick broke SV Wehen Wiesbaden's resistance shortly before half-time.
