Union Berlin tie confirmed
The German Football Association has confirmed details of the second round of the DFB Cup: The tie between the Werkself and Union Berlin will be played on Tuesday 24 October at 18.30 CET.
The 16 matches in the second round of the DFB Cup will be played in four blocks. Half of the games will be played on Tuesday 24 October: The first four ties, including the Werkself match, will kick off at 18.30 CET. Four other matches will follow in the evening (20.45 CET) – the same kick-off times apply to the remaining eight cup ties on the following day.
All Cup ties will be broadcast on Sky.

Bayer 04 loan Tape to Levante UD
Bayer 04 Leverkusen have transferred France U19 international Axel Tape to Spain. The 19-year-old is joining top-flight side Levante UD on a one-year loan. Tape joined the Werkself on a long-term deal from Champions League winners Paris Saint-Germain ahead of the 2025/26 season.

Closely fought top-of-the-table clash: Bayer 04 Women suffer narrow defeat to Wolfsburg
Despite a spirited performance, the Bayer 04 Women suffered their first defeat in their first home game of the season. In front of 1,184 spectators at the Ulrich Haberland Stadium, coach Roberto Pätzold’s side lost 2-1 to VfL Wolfsburg. Selina Ostermeier’s equaliser (51’) was not enough to secure a point, as the Bundesliga runners-up were quick to strike back.
