Sven Bender and Leno sidelined, Wendell out for four weeks
The Brazilian suffered a double torn ligament in his left ankle in the 4-1 win at Leipzig on Monday night.
Sven Bender picked up an ankle injury in Bayer 04's 4-1 win away to RB Leipzig on Monday night. The Leverkusen central defender my not be available for this weekend's game against Eintracht Frankfurt but a final decision on Bender's fitness will probably made on Saturday.
Bernd Leno also picked up a knock in Saxony. The Germany goalkeeper suffered a strained knee ligament following a collision with Leipzig's Naby Keita. Leno is now in the hands of the medical section and it remains to be seen whether he will be fit for the next match against a direct rival for a Champions League finish.
The Brazilian defender Wendell is definitely unavailable. The left back suffered double torn ligament in his left ankle in Leipzig and is likely to be ruled out for the next four weeks.

A week after their league opener away at RB Leipzig, Roberto Pätzold’s side will face last season’s runners-up, VfL Wolfsburg, in the first home fixture on Sunday 30 August (kick-off: 16:00 CEST). Fifteen days later, on Monday night, 14 September (kick-off: 18:00 CEST), the Leverkusen Women host German champions Bayern Munich at the Ulrich Haberland Stadium for a top-of-the-table league clash. Culbreath to miss the start of the season, Andrich in luck
Bayer 04 Leverkusen will have to manage without Montrell Culbreath for the start of the 2026/27 season. Bayer 04 extend Noah Mbamba’s contract and loan the Belgian to FC Lorient
Bayer 04 Leverkusen have extended midfielder Noah Mbamba’s contract by twelve months and sent the Belgian U21 international on loan to France.
