Bundesliga fixture list out on Friday

Borussia Mönchengladbach, Bayern Munich, Borussia Mönchengladbach again and 1899 Hoffenheim – they were the opening opponents for the Werkself in the past 04 years. Which team will provide the first hurdle for the Black and Reds in the coming season? We will know more on Friday – the German Football League (DFL) will release the fixture list for the next Bundesliga campaign at noon German time.

The summer break is drawing to a close and soon the action returns to the turf. When the Werkself return to training on Monday (1 July) and the pre-season officially starts it will already be clear which side the team coached by Peter Bosz will face in the first match of the German league championships (16 to 18 August) – one week after the DFB Cup tie at Alemannia Aachen (9 to 12 August). But also how the rest of the fixtures will pan out. A good sign that it won't be long before it all kicks off again...

The second attempt was a successful one: the Werkself won 1-0 at Hamburger SV in the rearranged Bundesliga Matchday 17 encounter. Head coach Kasper Hjulmand's side dominated play from the start and eventually scored the winning goal through Christian Kofane in the 73rd minute.
