"Iker Bravo is a real talent," said Simon Rolfes, Bayer 04 sporting director, about the youngster who did not want to extend his contract at Barcelona and was of interest to several top European clubs. "However, we were able to persuade him and his family that Leverkusen is exactly the right place for his next steps."
The 1.84 metre tall striker, who comes from near Barcelona, was discovered by the Barca scouts at the age of five and shortly after that he joined the La Masia academy. "He has a strong physique for his age. In addition, Iker is quick and good in the air," said Thomas Eichin, head of the Bayer 04 Performance Centre. "He will be a great addition to our club."
As usual, the transfer takes account of the international transfer regulations and is subject to final approval from FIFA.
