Monday 2 January marks the start of immediate preparations for the first match in the second half of the season. Fourth-placed Bayer 04 are at home on Saturday 8 January against Union Berlin who are currently seventh. The kick-off at the BayArena is at 15.30 CET.

Following last year's efforts at NaturGut Ophoven, this time the Bayer 04 team restored the outdoor area of a Leverkusen children's day-care centre with great support from Lebenshilfe-Werkstätten Leverkusen and club partner Coca-Cola.
