It's a childhood dream come true for Wendell. "It's the greatest thing that ever happened to me. Every Brazilian dreams of playing for the Seleção. It's fantastic and a really big honour for me," said Wendell ahead of the champions league game between Bayer 04 and AS Monaco.
For Bayer 04 this is the continuation of a long-standing tradition of having Brazil internationals at the club. Wendell played alongside Zé Roberto at the start of his career at Gremio in Porto Alegre.

In the upper section of Block A in the southeast corner of the stadium, Werkself fans can honour friends and family members with whom they have shared many special moments connected to Bayer 04.
