Volland sidelined with ankle injury
It looks likely Bayer 04 will have to manage without Kevin Volland for three months. The 27-year-old striker suffered a torn ligament in his left ankle in a challenge in the Europa League game against FC Porto.
That was the outcome of a thorough medical examination completed on Monday 24 February. Volland has travelled to Munich for surgery at the Schön Klinik Harlaching. After that, the Allgäu-born player will begin his rehab at the Werkstatt in Leverkusen.

Coach Kevin Brok's depleted side - including five players who were part of the senior squad for the Champions League game in the evening - lost 6-0 on Matchday 5 of the UEFA Youth League.
