Löw calls up Werkself duo
Joachim Löw has named his squad for the final two international fixtures of the year. He has included two Werkself players, goalkeeper Bernd Leno and striker Julian Brandt.
The Germany coach – as in the previous international squad selections - has again recognised the continuing impressive performances of the two Confed Cup winners. Julian Brandt is on the verge of making his thirteenth full international appearance (one goal), and Bernd Leno could earn his seventh cap for Germany. Both players were in the starting line-up for the 5-1 win in the World Cup qualifier against Azerbaijan and they played the full 90 minutes.
After successfully qualifying for next summer's World Cup in Russia, Germany now have two friendlies against England at Wembley Stadium on Friday (10 November, 21.00 CET) and against France in Cologne on Tuesday (14 November, 20.45 CET).
Jonathan Tah and Benny Henrichs were called up to the Germany U21 squad by coach Stefan Kuntz on Thursday. Further international call ups for Werkself players will be announced by the relevant associations in the next few days.

The Bundesliga home game against VfL Wolfsburg in the first half of the season was one of those classic ‘days to forget’ for Bayer 04 Women. It started with goalkeeper Charlotte Voll being shown a red card in the first minute of the game, and following a further sending-off, coach Roberto Pätzold's 9-women side ended up losing 5-1 to last season's runners-up. Werkself held to 1-1 draw by Bayern in eventful encounter
Bayer 04 were held to a 1-1 draw at home by Bayern Munich in an eventful Matchday 26 fixture in the Bundesliga. Aleix Garcia had given the Werkself the lead inside six minutes, but Bayern levelled in the second half through Luis Diaz, despite Nicolas Jackson having been send off before the break. Diaz was then dismissed himself as Leverkusen pushed for a winner, which failed to materialise as Jonas Hofmann saw a late goal ruled out.
