He suffered a bruised back and is now recovering in Leverkusen. The Germany U21 team have two European Championship qualifiers on Thursday 9 November against Azerbaijan in Baku and on Tuesday 14 November against Israel in Tel Aviv.
Sven Bender will undergo a thorough medical examination on Monday to discover whether the Werkself defender has suffered a broken rib as feared in the Werkself match at Augsburg.

The next opponents in the 2025/26 DFB Pokal have been announced: Bayer 04 will host Bundesliga rivals FC St. Pauli in the quarter-finals.
