Bayer 04 agree Volland transfer to Monaco

After four years at Bayer 04, Kevin Volland is joining top French club AS Monaco with immediate effect. The club, that only hired coach Niko Kovac last month, have bought out the 28-year-old Volland from his contract that was due to run to 30 June 2021. The striker has signed a contract at the eight-time French champions to 2024.

"Kevin has shown great identification with Bayer 04 in his time here. His desire and his commitment for the team and the club were always exemplary," declared sporting director Simon Rolfes. "But when the opportunity came for Kevin to move on to an attractive club abroad then we agreed to his transfer request based on an agreement satisfactory to all sides."
