Ankle injury sidelines Bayer 04 keeper Lunev

Bayer 04 will have to manage without Andrey Lunev over the longer term. The Russian goalkeeper suffered an ankle ligament tear in Sunday’s training session and will undergo an operation in the next few days.

It is expected the 30-year-old will be out of action for three months. After his operation, Lunev will complete his rehab under the roof of the BayArena at the Leverkusen Werkstatt.
